Responsible Gaming
Every tool below is free, applies instantly and cannot be reversed early. That last part is what makes them work.
Limits You Can Set
| Tool | What it does | Takes effect |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit limit | Caps what you can add daily, weekly or monthly | Instantly; increases take 24 hours |
| Loss limit | Stops play once net losses reach your figure | Instantly |
| Wager limit | Caps total amount staked in a period | Instantly |
| Session reminder | Pops up elapsed time and net position | Next session |
| Cool-off | Locks the account for 24 hours to 30 days | Immediately, cannot be lifted early |
| Self-exclusion | Closes access for 1 year to permanently | Immediately, enforced state-wide |
Note the asymmetry on deposit limits: lowering one is instant, raising one waits 24 hours. That delay exists because the decision to raise a limit is almost always made in the worst possible moment to make it.
Warning Signs
- Betting more than you planned, more often than you planned
- Chasing losses with larger stakes to get back to even
- Cancelling withdrawals to keep playing
- Gambling with money set aside for bills, rent or food
- Hiding play from people close to you, or lying about amounts
- Borrowing money to gamble, or selling things to fund it
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to stop
- Gambling to escape stress, anxiety or low mood
One item on that list is worth watching. Three or more is worth acting on today, not later.

State self-exclusion registers
Each regulated state runs its own list. Enrolling covers every licensed operator in that state at once, not just one site.
Ground Rules That Actually Hold
- Decide the amount before you open the site, and treat it as spent the moment you deposit
- Never deposit money you need for anything else
- Set a time limit as well as a money limit — sessions stretch without one
- Do not gamble while drinking, upset, or trying to fix a bad day
- Take the win as a win: withdraw a share immediately rather than replaying all of it
- Understand the house edge is permanent — 96.4% average RTP means the long-run result is a loss by design
Gambling is entertainment with a price attached, like any other. Treated that way it stays enjoyable. Treated as income, it does not.
